Doxora

Doxora

Doxora Privacy Policy
Effective date: May 18, 2026
Doxora is a Chrome extension for webpage summarization, translation, selected-text explanation, page-based chat, media-assisted analysis, and local knowledge organization. This policy explains how Doxora handles data related to these features.
Doxora does not sell user data, does not use user data for advertising, and does not download or execute remotely hosted JavaScript or Wasm code.
Data We Process
Doxora may process the following data when you use related features:
- Page context, such as page title, URL, selected text, readable text, page structure, and public image or video metadata.
- User input, such as prompts, translation requests, instructions, and chat messages entered in the Doxora panel.
- Local settings, such as default language, panel state, model provider settings, translation settings, and feature preferences.
- Credential data, such as API keys that you configure for third-party AI or translation services.
- Local content, such as chat history, knowledge documents, attachment indexes, and content you choose to upload or save in Doxora.
- Screenshots or media content, only when you actively use screenshot, visual analysis, image drop, or media analysis features.
How We Use Data
Data is used only to provide Doxora features, including:
- Generating summaries, translations, explanations, or answers based on the current webpage.
- Displaying the floating entry point and side assistant panel on webpages.
- Saving settings, restoring sessions, and supporting continuous conversations.
- Calling the AI, translation, search, or media analysis service selected or configured by you.
- Organizing knowledge materials that you choose to save locally.
Local Storage
Doxora uses Chrome extension local storage and IndexedDB to store settings, sessions, knowledge materials, and attachment indexes. API keys are stored locally in your browser and are used to make requests to the services you configure. These local records are removed or no longer used by Doxora when you uninstall the extension, clear browser data, or delete the relevant content in the extension.
Third-Party Services
When you use AI chat, webpage translation, model testing, web search, or media analysis features, Doxora may send the minimum content required to complete your request to the third-party service provider selected or configured by you. These providers may include AI model providers, translation services, search services, or custom endpoints entered by you.
Processing by those third-party services is governed by their own privacy policies and terms. Doxora does not sell your data to third parties.
Permissions
Doxora requests browser permissions for the following purposes:
- storage: to save extension settings, sessions, local knowledge materials, and attachment indexes.
- tabs / activeTab: to identify the current tab, open requested pages, associate historical sessions, and access the current page after user action.
- scripting: to temporarily run extension-bundled scripts to read page context when cross-tab reading or page analysis features are used.
- Host permissions: to show the assistant entry and side panel on http/https pages and read current page content for summarization, translation, and Q&A.
Sharing and Sale of Data
Doxora does not sell, rent, or trade user data. Except as necessary to complete actions you request, Doxora does not share your page content, chat content, API keys, or local knowledge materials with third parties.
Children's Privacy
Doxora is intended for general browser users and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

If Doxora's features or data processing practices change, we may update this policy and publish the new effective date on this page.
